Mural in Eugene Oregon

Meghan Doremus is a muralist based in Missoula, Montana. She recently moved from Eugene, Oregon, to enjoy a slower pace of life and spend more time in nature. While living in Eugene, Meghan studied Landscape Architecture, where she developed an appreciation for native plants, design, and urban beautification. Most importantly, she learned the need for community engagement and the importance of public spaces.

Painting murals allow Meghan to spark conversations about nature while expressing creativity and having fun. She is often most inspired while walking through town, capturing the flora and fauna, the movement of the river and sky, and the way light dances across Missoula. She also finds inspiration in her winter work as a ski patroller at Snowbowl. The mountains, the snow, and her love of winter recreation are significant sources of the joy and energy reflected in her work.

As a self-taught artist, Meghan found murals to be an approachable medium, both for herself as an artist and for public enjoyment. While murals are her primary passion, she also enjoys working in a variety of mediums, including acrylic, watercolor, colored pencil, collage, and pyrography. She hopes to continue expanding her practice in both mixed media and mural work. It is important to her that community members and business owners who envision a mural have the opportunity to bring that vision to life, as she believes that murals are a source of expressive freedom, joy, and help foster community.
